Sparkling Wine Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt

This sparkling wine, or "Sekt," comes from the German wine region Pfalz and has been personally sourced from the Faubel winery in Maikammer. Pfalz is Germany's second-largest wine region, renowned for its Riesling and various Burgunder grape varieties. The German names for the grapes originating from the French Burgundy region are Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). In addition to Riesling, traditional French Burgundy grape varieties are often used to make German Sekt.

This Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is made from Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes using the traditional "Méthode Traditionelle" from the Champagne region. This means the Sekt undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle and matures for 48 months. Typically, a dosage is added after the vinification of sparkling wine, and depending on the sugar content, it is labeled "Brut" or "Demi-sec." This Sekt is non-dosage, making it a Brut Nature Sekt.

In our opinion, this Sekt rivals a Champagne from the Champagne region. As a quality wine, it bears the designation "Grosse Lage" under German wine law, equivalent to a Grand Cru sparkling wine. A true quality wine and an excellent choice for Champagne lovers seeking an elegant yet characterful sparkling wine!

Flavor Profile and Serving Temperature Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt

The Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is a stylish sparkling wine with great elegance. It features a rich yet complex body with a delicate brioche note, is lightly mineral, and has a fine mousse. The Sekt is best served at a temperature between 6-8°C. To achieve this, place the bottle in the refrigerator two hours before serving. If you have unexpected guests and wish to serve the Sekt, do not put it in the freezer! This could impair the delicate aromas of this Sekt. Instead, place it in a mixture of cold water, ice, and a pinch of salt for quick chilling to the perfect serving temperature.

The Kostbar Burgunder Cuvée Sekt is excellent as an aperitif and pairs well with fish dishes. The Grand Cru Champagne truffles are a delightful conclusion to a dinner and pair perfectly with espresso.

If you’d like to keep the sparkling wine for a while, it has an aging potential of 3 years.

Storage advice for chocolate 

On the packaging you will find the best before date (THT-Date). Until this date the quality of the product is good. To keep the quality optimal, we advise you to keep the product cool. This means that you can best keep the product cool, dark and dry at a temperature between 16 and 18 ° C. 

Storage advice for sparkling wine 

Sparkling wine has a storage potential of 7 years from the year mentioned on the label. Until that year, the quality of the sparkling wine is good. The wine is best stored lying down so that the stool does not dry out. In addition, we recommend storing the wine in a dark room, at a temperature between 10 and 14ºC. Just before serving, the wine is allowed to warm up slightly, namely between 6 and 8ºC.
